From Glenn:
Here's to a safe season ahead. If you don't already have a version of SuperManager up and running this season, it shouldn't be difficult to get going. Email or text if you run into problems. If you are running an old version, you and are happy with what you've got, stick with it. If this version is an upgrade, check it out and see if you like the few added features.
The latest version of SuperManager is attached. To use SuperManager you will likely need to update a few of their MS Excel laptop settings to get this glorified workbook to run properly. It's safe to update these settings as specified below as long as you are getting your copy of SuperManager directly from me or a trusted individual. If you're not sure, contact me at mountainsavvy@gmail.com and I'll send you a fresh trusted copy of SuperManager.
Use SuperManager v3.23 in any way that works for you and your crew. Please pass it along to anyone who would benefit from it.
A few things to remember when using SuperManager:
Avoid using the browser version of Excel. Use the Desktop App (the full version of Excel). More on this below.
Enable Macros as these Visual Basic macros are at the heart of the functionality of SuperManager.
Enable Content is also necessary to allow full functionality of SuperManager. Doing so simply means the file is from a trusted source.
Store your copies of SuperManager in a folder on your computer that is a "trusted" folder so the macros work. Go to File > Options > Trust Center >Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations > Add new location
SuperManager will work to its full capacity only with macro-enabled Excel (.xlsm).
SuperManager now runs on Apple operating systems using .xlsm files!! (at least with macbooks and possibly with other Apple devices).
Ensure your version of Excel has the menu item "Formulas" set as follows: Formulas > Calculation Options > Automatic
Save a pristine copy of SuperManager so after you've really bungled up your working copy, you can always start afresh.
While SuperManager will work in the browser version, it will not allow the full functionality and you will be frustrated. From the browser version, you can get to the full version by clicking "Open in Desktop App" just below the green menubar
SuperManager works great when stored on OneDrive especially with AutoSave mode On. Multiple users can use it at the same time. Be sure to close the file when not using it, especially if shared by several users... it's just cleaner that way. Save backup copies regularly just in case someone makes a mess of the shared copy.
After you've saved a pristine copy elsewhere, open SuperManager v3.23 and go to the first tab in the workbook. This is the "user manual". There is not much there, but it will explain how to get most versions of Excel to work just fine with SuperManager v3.23.
Once you've read about filling in the "Contract" worksheet (always the first sheet in the workbook), begin by adding your contract info in there. Note there are up to three different rates you can specify for AV, FT and extended hours which allows for mid-contract changes in rates without having to begin a whole new workbook. These rates are then available as pulldown options on each day (on the Daily Helicopter Use and Cost Summary portion of the page).
There is no "helpdesk" for SuperManager, just me. If you have issues, let me know and I will try to help, but no guarantee I will be able to get back to you in a timely manner. If you have ideas that would help to make SuperManager better, please let me know.
